The matter envelopes everything with its numb sense of loss, that your eyes quickly search for the light that shrinks at the very fringes of your vision, mirrored only by the fear in your heart as hope fades with it. The doom of being blind panics the weary traveller and experienced horse. It is natural for things of good grace to fear the shadows and the creatures they bring with them, who move under its veiled cloak for damned reasons alone.
